M. Verlaine Rhodes (Mimi)
Born in Nyack, N.Y, Verlaine is a fourth generation artist.She first studied at the University of Florida on an art fellowship. She received a BFA from Adams State College in Colorado.
She has had extended studies at the University of New Mexico and Bellas Artes of Mexico. She holds an MFA degree from Instituto Allende, University of Guanajuato, Mexico, where she lived, worked and taught before coming with her family to Santa Fe.
Visual elements such as line, form and shape possess their own force of expression. What I seek to reveal in my art is a greater understanding of human experience – something that reassures me the responses of daily life lead up to something unique. – M. Verlaine Rhodes
